Cumark Tower's main steel structure topped out on 26 October 2017. Delivered by GSIN under an EPC model, the project was presented as Shenzhen's first fully prefabricated steel building and first three-star green high-rise prefabricated steel project. Partners included China Construction Seventh Engineering Division, Germany's Ytong and Japan's Kikusui Chemical.
Guests included Hao Yingji of the Shenzhen Energy Conservation Association, Cumark Chairman Li Ruichang, GSIN Chairman Zhang Feng, Si Xiang of China Construction Seventh Engineering Division's Southern Company, Hu Zhiyi of Shenzhen Hechuang Construction Engineering Consultants, Liu Jian of the China Academy of Building Research's Shenzhen branch and Ying Bo of China Construction First Engineering Division.
Speakers praised quality, technology and safety. Zhang thanked the client, design and construction partners and the project team led by Wang Jin. He described GSIN's transition from Grade I specialist contracting to EPC green-building delivery, integrating steel structures, ALC envelopes, finished interiors and intelligent systems.
Located in Guangming's technology industrial park, the project occupies 7,654 m², with approximately 38,697 m² of floor area, two basement levels and 17 above-ground storeys, rising 69.9 m. The system was developed with the China Academy of Building Research, Tsinghua University and Chongqing University. Prefabrication and assembly rates both exceeded 80%.
The report describes advantages in seismic performance, cost, programme and environmental impact, with whole-life savings in energy, land, water and materials and healthier, more comfortable and efficient spaces.
