On 15 June 2018, the China Construction Metal Structure Association organized an expert appraisal of GSIN's prefabricated steel-structure light-panel building system at Cumark Tower.
Participants included Academician Zhou Xuhong of Chongqing University, Wang Lijun, Tsinghua University's Wang Yuanqing, a deputy president of the China Institute of Building Standard Design and Research, Tongji University's Zhang Qilin, Chen Zhenming of China Construction Steel Structure, Liu Jian of the China Academy of Building Research's Shenzhen branch and association representative Hu Yuke.
The panel reviewed design, R&D and engineering applications, technical reports and test results, visited the project and questioned the development team. It recognized the system's functional completeness, compliance with national assessment requirements, high prefabrication rate, shorter construction programme and orderly site.
The appraisal discussed savings in materials, water, energy, land and labour, together with environmental benefits. Recommendations included further optimization against established systems, integrated interiors and a broader range of panel types and specifications for different steel residential buildings. Chairman Zhang Feng thanked the panel and committed to implementing its recommendations.
