On 23–24 February, GSIN reviewed 2018 performance and planned work for 2019. Chairman Zhang Feng called for stronger management and technical capabilities.
The five-year strategy combines steel structures and green buildings, closes the design gap in EPC delivery, increases R&D investment and moves the company from labour-intensive fabrication and installation towards technology- and management-led development.
The 2018 review included the 357 m Shenwan Huiyun Center and four standard exhibition halls with 99 m spans at the major convention and exhibition complex. Green-building applications included Cumark Tower, described in the report as South China's first complete high-rise prefabricated steel building; the Longgang hospital temporary-relocation project; and the Red'ao Village refectory.
GSIN signed an agreement with Jinxi Real Estate and negotiated the Nanyun Jiayuan contract, its first EPC fully finished commercial residential project using steel and ALC panels. Experience covered public offices, sports buildings, hospitals and housing, including design, construction, management and after-sales service.
For 2019, the company would maintain its strategy, expand green-building EPC delivery and improve quality and efficiency. Priorities were management, especially safety; technical leadership; marketing breakthroughs; conversion of early-mover advantages into market benefits; and team development. After 21 years, GSIN aimed to become an industry benchmark.
