This account pays tribute to the team that delivered the Guangming Science City Exhibition Center in 35 days. The general-contracting project covered a floor area of 4,390 m² on a 15,200 m² site, with 92 machines, 396 workers and numerous specialist subcontractors working across disciplines.
Work sometimes began at 4 a.m. and continued around the clock through heat, rain and typhoon conditions. Staff ate and slept on site, coordinated until their voices became hoarse and continued to support their colleagues despite exhaustion and illness.
The account describes muddy clothing, sweat-soaked shifts and time away from family, including missed parent meetings and children's final-exam preparation. Although home could be only a 90-minute journey away, some team members did not return for more than 30 days.
It credits ordinary workers' responsibility, persistence and coordination with keeping the company's delivery promise and earning the client's trust and respect.
