On 7 August, Shenzhen's housing authority organized a mid-year meeting hosted at GSIN's production base. Fifty-six representatives from 28 national, provincial and municipal prefabricated-building bases and industry organizations attended. Guests included Dai Yunxiang, Tang Zhenzhong and association secretary-general Fu Canhua.
Nine representatives of Guangdong's first group of industrial bases reviewed work in the first half of 2019, second-half plans and implementation difficulties. Discussion covered cooperation across the industrial chain, steel-structure prefabrication, and policies, market benefits and technical barriers affecting prefabricated interiors.
Visitors toured the light-panel building-system exhibition, show home and workshops, reviewing connections, models, videos and display panels. Dai encouraged bases to improve their own capabilities and set industry benchmarks.
GSIN outlined a platform integrating design, production, construction, testing, acceptance and operation. Its 2019 work with Tsinghua University, the China Academy of Building Research and China Wuzhou Engineering Design focused on steel residential buildings up to 70 m: system research, connection tests, engineering applications, technical appraisal and standards.
