The 18th China International Housing Industry and Building Industrialization Products and Equipment Expo opened on 7 November 2019 at the new China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. It was jointly organized by the ministry's science and culture development center (housing industrialization promotion center), China Real Estate Association and China Architectural Culture Center.
As one of China's first model cities for prefabrication, Shenzhen exhibited under Green City, Bay Area Engine. GSIN displayed its light-panel steel-building system and residential models, while studying domestic and international experience. Officials, experts, technicians, older visitors and students showed interest in the system.
GSIN aims to build safe, reliable, high-quality, energy-efficient and comfortable green homes. At the planned 2020 Shenzhen International Finished Housing Exhibition at Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, it would join Japanese designer Sadao Tsuchiya, Shenzhen Furniture Association's housing institute, USIZE Housing Technology and Shenzhen General Institute of Architectural Design and Research in a Challenge the Impossible project.
The proposed challenge was to assemble a complete home, including structure, interiors and components, within 24 hours. It would demonstrate integrated component design, highly prefabricated construction and a comfortable, simple and flowing residential layout.
