The Third High-Tech Prefabricated School is northeast of the intersection of Shennan Avenue and Huanggang Road in Futian District, Shenzhen. It occupies approximately 12,000 m², with a floor area of 12,319 m², 48 classes and 2,160 school places. It was among the first projects under Futian's Double Ten programme of ten permanent and ten prefabricated schools.
The school uses a full steel frame, steel-bar truss decking and ALC interior and exterior walls. It achieved a 76% prefabrication rate, structural topping out in 30 days and full handover in four months. The original presentation sets out five core concepts and six technical advantages.
Conventional construction faces energy use, pollution, low productivity and labour constraints. Standardized design, factory fabrication, assembly-based construction, digital management and intelligent operation provide a path towards greener, more sustainable building methods.
