On 15 August 2020, GSIN held its first-half review in the company lecture hall to assess performance, plan the second half and examine management issues. Departments, business divisions and senior leaders presented reports. Chairman Zhang Feng spoke on maintaining strategic focus, confronting difficulties, transforming and upgrading for quality development.
The meeting emphasized that steel construction's cost advantages depend first on scale, then management and the ability to change. Competitive prefabricated steel construction requires technical, market and management advantages.
Safety performance was stable in the first half. The second half would retain safety as a prerequisite for production, select quality projects and prioritize cash flow. Strengths included teams, strategic customers, regional reputation, fabrication bases, Grade I specialist qualification, an established prefabricated system and industrial-base recognition. Constraints remained in costs, capital, management, brand and capacity.
Priorities were to consolidate strategic customers, reduce costs, improve results and actively develop prefabricated steel business. GSIN would retain its dual GSIN Steel Fabrication and GSIN Green Building strategy, steadily advancing transformation towards prefabrication while refining traditional steel work. Leaders were asked to act on that strategy, adapt to change and avoid complacency.
