The third International Shenzhen Prefabricated Building Development Summit and Exhibition took place on 17–19 September at the InterContinental Shenzhen Dameisha Resort. More than 50 experts from across the supply chain discussed quality development in building industrialization. GSIN supported the event and participated in its enterprise exhibition.
Organized by Shenzhen's building-industrialization association, the forum's theme was Leading the Era, Prefabricating the Next Decade. Guidance came from the ministry's science and industrialization center, Guangdong and Shenzhen housing authorities, the city's construction-industry Party committee and the prefabricated-building technology innovation alliance.
Chairman Zhang Feng spoke on Applying Integrated Thinking to Prefabricated Steel Buildings, introducing GSIN's approach through research, technology, independent assessments and projects.
The approach integrates the entire process and supply chain: policy and market research, project planning, multidisciplinary design, engineering support and user evaluation, alongside materials, factory fabrication, logistics, erection, optimization, operation and maintenance. Parallel coordination replaces sequential traditional workflows to integrate resources and shorten programmes.
In Shenzhen's 40th anniversary year, development of the Greater Bay Area and the demonstration zone creates new opportunities. GSIN will focus on customer needs, quality, efficiency and prefabrication research as the industry enters its next decade.
