On 18 November 2021, the final steel beam was installed at the Shanghai Reeb Brewery redevelopment, topping out a representative GSIN project in eastern China.
Located at 379 Hongmei South Road, Minhang District, Shanghai, the project is planned with a 60% prefabrication rate and a two-star green-building design rating. China Construction Seventh Engineering Division is the general contractor.
Phase I comprises 20 buildings, 19 with prefabricated steel frames. Its floor area is 81,000 m², including 32,600 m² above ground and 48,400 m² below ground, using approximately 4,800 tonnes of steel.
Phases II and III total 144,934 m², including 104,394 m² above ground and 40,540 m² below ground, with approximately 17,000 tonnes of steel. Phase II includes Tower 21, with two basement levels, 22 above-ground storeys and a height of 99.9 m, and a podium with one basement level, six above-ground storeys and a height of 26.9 m.
Phase III comprises Tower 26 and Buildings 22–25 and 27. Tower 26 has two basement levels, 17 above-ground storeys and a height of 79.9 m. The other five buildings have one basement level, four or five above-ground storeys and heights of approximately 27.1 m.
Since the first column lift on 23 October 2019, GSIN's East China division coordinated more than 700 days of work. The owner, supervision team and general contractor recognized its delivery, safety and quality. Labour teams received Safe Team honours and strong results in behaviour-based safety assessments. China Construction Seventh Engineering Division named GSIN a Win-Win Cooperation Partner and Outstanding Cooperation Partner. Topping out establishes another regional application of GSIN's prefabricated steel-building technology.
