On 15 December 2021, an evaluation of Research and Engineering Application of Complete Technologies for GSIN Prefabricated Steel Buildings was held at Shenzhen Crowne Plaza Hotel. Li Qingwei, Secretary-General of the China Steel Construction Society, chaired the meeting.
Academician Yue Qingrui led the panel, with national engineering survey and design masters Wang Lijun and Hou Zhaoxin as deputy leaders. Members included Professor Wang Zhan of South China University of Technology, Guangdong survey and design master Zhang Liangping, Professor Zhang Sumei of Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, and Chen Zhenming, Chief Engineer of China Construction Steel Structure Engineering.
The panel reviewed technical documents, research presentations and six international and domestic novelty-search reports. Following questions and discussion, it rated the overall achievement internationally advanced. The through-plate beam–column connection for prefabricated steel frames and the connection between new prefabricated reinforced-concrete floor slabs and steel beams were rated internationally leading.
The achievement represents ten years of collaboration with Tsinghua University and other research and industry partners. It follows the 2018 appraisal, led by Academician Zhou Xuhong, of GSIN's light-panel steel-building system as nationally advanced. GSIN and its partners will continue research and product development in prefabricated steel construction.
