On 18 January 2022, Shenzhen's Housing and Construction Bureau released its 2021 New Construction Technology Promotion Catalogue. GSIN's complete prefabricated steel-structure light-panel building system was the only prefabricated steel-building technology among the 13 selected technologies.
The catalogue describes three integrated parts: an all-steel main structure, steel-bar truss floor decking and a lightweight exterior wall enclosure. The latter reduces dead load, improves wall connections and helps shorten construction programmes.
The system reflects nearly ten years of joint research with Tsinghua University and other universities and enterprises, applied to housing, schools, offices and hospitals. In 2018, a panel led by Academician Zhou Xuhong rated version 1.0 nationally advanced. In 2021, a panel led by Academician Yue Qingrui rated version 2.0 internationally advanced overall.
Applications include Ningxi Yuefu in Yancheng, featured in CCTV's Steel Backbone; Taizhou Nanyun Jiayuan, a 2021 Jiangsu demonstration project; Shenzhen Nanhua Primary School, part of the city's Double Ten programme; and Cumark Tower, a Guangdong prefabricated-building and Shenzhen construction-technology demonstration project.
Selection acknowledges GSIN's application of new technologies and processes. The company will continue innovation in green prefabricated steel construction.
