GSIN's mobile COVID-19 sampling station has entered service at a testing site in Shatou Subdistrict, Futian. Medical workers sit inside the 3.6 m² station and take samples through openings in the glass enclosure, allowing separated sampling operations.
Recurring outbreaks and routine testing created a need for safer, more comfortable working conditions. Hot southern summers and cold northern winters both challenge outdoor medical work. The station was designed to improve the sampling environment and protect frontline staff.
Ergonomic design: Many sampling stations require staff to stand for two or three hours. GSIN's inclined sampling window allows flexible seated operation for different users, reducing fatigue during extended sampling sessions.
Separation and protection: The workbench allows sampling, swab sealing and alcohol disinfection to be performed outside before tube boxes are collected inside in batches. Swabs carrying saliva do not enter the cabin directly. A positive-pressure fresh-air system further limits the entry of outside air.
Flexible deployment: Castors allow the station to move between locations. Following disinfection, it can also be lifted by crane and transported for reuse, supporting changing multi-site testing needs.
The station incorporates medical antibacterial wall panels, positive-pressure ventilation, ultraviolet disinfection, intelligent voice functions and an outdoor display to support safe, efficient sampling.
