June marked the 21st national Work Safety Month, with the theme Observe the Work Safety Law and Fulfil the First Responsible Person's Duties. Following the national 2022 notice and taking epidemic-control conditions into account, GSIN organized activities to strengthen enterprise responsibility, safety awareness and staff protection.
Safety education: Staff watched accident warning films and studied and were assessed on the Work Safety Law. Launch ceremonies and dedicated information boards supported the campaign. Factory and site workers took part in practical exercises including balance beams, helmet impacts, safety harnesses, falls through openings and electrical safety.
Hazard inspections: Second-quarter comprehensive inspections covered construction sites, dormitories and canteens. The I Am a Safety Whistleblower campaign encouraged staff to identify and correct risks, especially in accident-prone operations. Rewarded reporting of hazards and violations strengthened employee supervision. Department-led safety discussions examined gaps in responsibilities and their underlying causes.
Emergency drills: Production and fire-safety rescue exercises reinforced response procedures and escape skills. Emergency plans were reviewed to improve their rigour, relevance and practical operation.
Digital management: GSIN developed and refined an enterprise WeChat safety platform for dynamic assessment, training and visual data management. Production units were asked to use it to follow safety developments and improve efficiency.
The activities aimed to move staff from passive compliance to active, competent safety management, strengthen the safety foundation and sustain a stable working environment. GSIN will consolidate effective practices and continue them beyond the campaign month.
