Steel construction began at Hongji Xiyue Tower with the successful lifting of a 2.9-tonne column. GSIN is responsible for steelwork on Tower 1.
Located at Longgang Avenue and Xipu West Street in Shenzhen, the commercial and office building is 119.15 m high, with three basement levels and 30 above-ground storeys, using a frame-core structural system. Floor area is 64,616.89 m². The developer is Tunghsu Azure Renewable Energy Co., Ltd.; the general contractor is Shenzhen Wancheng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd.
Approximately 855 tonnes of steel are used in encased circular outer-frame columns, podium H-section columns, steel-reinforced concrete H beams and roof framing. Seventeen tower steel columns extend from basement level 3 to level 21; levels 19–21 include 14 inclined circular columns. Two podium H-section columns extend from levels 2–4, while 17 box columns run from level 24 to the roof framing.
Encased beams occur between basement level 2 and level 21, concentrated on levels 19–21. Roof beams are box sections. Steel grade is Q355B, with a maximum plate thickness of 50 mm. GSIN will coordinate closely with the client, general contractor and supervisor.
