Steel construction completed at Wuchuan's smart multi-storey parking garage

GSIN completed steel construction for two smart mechanical parking garages in Wuchuan, Guangdong. Removal of their external scaffolding marked completion of the steelwork. The facilities address parking demand in a densely developed urban area.

The municipal smart-parking programme includes three garages at the former forestry bureau dormitory on Gongye First Road, the Shanjiaoqiao vacant plot at Xinjian Road and Tangchang Road, and the fisheries company office on Keping Road. The developer is the Wuchuan Urban Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau.

GSIN delivered steelwork at Shanjiaoqiao and the former forestry bureau site, using approximately 857 tonnes of steel in total. Both use vertical-lift mechanical parking systems, reinforced-concrete basements and steel-framed above-ground structures.

The Shanjiaoqiao garage is a prefabricated steel building with one basement and nine above-ground levels, a floor area of 3,836.41 m², standard storey heights of 2.5 m/2.0 m, a building height of 23.95 m and a plan of 19.35 m × 21.20 m.

At Shanjiaoqiao, 30 equipment foundation plates are embedded at −2.300 m and 44 at −0.800 m. The steel-frame base elevation is −0.250 m; storey heights include 3.68, 2.50, 2.00, 2.25 and 2.12 m. Roof structure and plant-room roof elevations are 21.550 m and 23.670 m. Twenty box columns are arranged on five transverse and four longitudinal axes; hot-rolled H beams use Q355B.

Level 2 uses HB1-90 steel-truss floor decking with a 120 mm total floor thickness and rail embeds. Levels 3–9 include maintenance walkways and oil-drip protection, using No. 12 channels, angles, mesh and 0.6 mm profiled steel sheet. The south and north roof sides and plant-room roof use HB1-90 decking and 6 mm patterned steel plate. Original drawings and the former forestry bureau garage specifications are retained in the illustrated report below.
